HoverTech International is interested in providing solutions to your patient handling needs; the appropriate application of the HoverTech safety program results in:
INCREASED employee and patient safety
SIGNIFICANT reductions in Workers' Compensation injuries
We firmly believe in these positive results...
HoverTech International consultants will design a program following a thorough assessment of your facility (at no charge!) that includes review of OSHA 300 logs, loss runs and interviews with all department managers. At this time, costs from lateral transfer and repositioning injuries are averaged over a number of years and a "benchmark" is established upon which to measure savings.
The hospital must agree to implement a hospital-wide No-Lift Policy. This is defined as "most routine patient handling tasks will be completed with a mechanical assistive device". This policy shall be monitored carefully and supported by formalized personnel details. It is also understood that any incident/injury incurred while not using the assistive device is not included in this Guarantee.
Upon mutual acceptance of the design, the conditions and hospital benchmarks, HoverTech International consultants will engineer a complete installation of the Program including installation of equipment, assistance with the drafting of protocols and procedures and thorough 24/7 in servicing.
And then we Guarantee the program...
The Guarantee states that under the Agreed Upon Terms and Conditions, the Workers’ Compensation savings will equal or exceed the cost of the program within two years or HoverTech International will reimburse the difference to the hospital. (Recently, a hospital has achieved the guaranteed savings in just eight months!)
The Program contains the following components:
- No Charge Hospital Analysis - The HoverTech consultant(s) will spend one-two days within each facility. During this time, they will gather data via document review and interviews with department heads and administrative personnel.
- Review and trending of OSHA 300 Logs or other in-house incident reports
- Review of Insurance Loss Runs or in-house records regarding Workers’ Comp costs
- Operational Assessment including Patient Flow; Admissions; Average Census; Staffed Beds; Emergency Department; Surgery; Radiology; Patient Floors; etc.
- Design of Safety Program - After compiling pertinent information, the HoverTech consultant(s) will design a Safety Program for the facility that will include the needed safety equipment, including the HoverMatt® products. This program, when fully implemented, will significantly reduce Workers’ Comp injuries due to lateral patient transfers and repositioning tasks. Utilizing historical WC costs as benchmarks, HoverTech will guarantee the Safety Program results.
- Program Implementation - Upon mutual acceptance of the Guarantee, HoverTech International consultants will engineer a complete installation of the Safety Program in the facility. The consultant will work closely with facility personnel in the effort so that necessary customization is accomplished.
- Installation of Equipment per Program Requirements
- Protocols and Procedures
- Staff In-Servicing - initially 24/7
- Follow-Up - The HoverTech International consultant will continue to work closely with the facility to achieve program success.
- Re-training
- Program Monitoring
- Participation in QI/Safety team
